The Lingnan has been serving Edmonton and surrounding area with fine Cantonese and Szechuen cuisine since 1947. We are a Consumer's Choice Award recognized establishment and the winner of the World Famous Restaurants International Award.

THE HISTORY OF LINGNAN

1947 - The Lingnan Restaurant was started by the Pon Family on the corner of 97 street and Jasper Avenue

1953 - The Quon Brothers took over The Lingnan, The Lingnan moved to it's current location

1972 - Kinman Quon started working at the Lingnan at the age of 18.

1975 - Kinman acquired The Lignan along with his partners Mr. Keen Jung and Mr. Yee, The Lingnan completely renovates because of a kitchen fire bringing in modern kitchen equipment

2002 - Kinman Quon became the sole proprietor of The Lingnan both business and land

2004 to present - Miles Quon, the eldest son joins Kinman in running the family business, bringing on new challenges and phenomena changes

The Lingnan Restaurant was started in 1947 in Edmonton, Alberta on the corner of 97 street and Jasper Avenue. As Chinese food became more popular in the city the Quon Brothers decided to expand and move into our current location in 1963. The Lingnan restaurant has always had a loyal crowd on clientele because of the excellent food, ambiance and service. Many of our staff members have been with us for over 30 years and continue to work each day with an abundance of energy and pride. Owner, Kinman Quon, has worked at The Lingnan since we was 17 and now continues to run the restaurant with his family. Recently in the last 5 years, eldest Son Miles decided to join in the family business full time and now has taken on majority of the duties and challenges. We are very proud to be able to keep the business within the same family for over 60 years and will continue to do our best with the support of our loyal clientele.
